Our Kindergarten
PENGUIN’S KINDERGARTEN
A kindergarten in the centre of Ostrava
PRIGO Kindergarten is part of the PRIGO group of schools. Our preschool education brings together Czech and English.
We welcome children aged 2 to 6. With a capacity of 22 children, we provide individual care and opportunities to learn in smaller groups.
Our approach follows the PriorityGO philosophy, which respects each child’s individuality and prepares them for their future life.
You will find our kindergarten on Masarykovo náměstí in Ostrava, with the entrance at Střelniční 6/2. We are open throughout the year, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
HOW CHILDREN LEARN
Learning through play.
We combine discovery with movement, creativity and cooperation. Our educational programme also draws inspiration from the Te Whariki approach.
Play and creativity
Stories, music and shared activities help children discover new things and try them for themselves.
Individual care
We respect each child’s stage of development, their pace and their family background.
Czech and English
Pingu’s English introduces children to the language through play and helps them become more confident communicators.

Our day together
In our mixed-age group, children work in smaller groups and learn to cooperate, help one another and respect others.
Our varied daily routine includes play, creative activities, movement and rest. For outdoor activities, we also use the Miniuni garden at Černá louka and enjoy walks in Komenského sady.
Through everyday activities, we encourage an interest in nature and healthy habits.
Meals and refreshments
Children have a morning snack, lunch and one or two afternoon snacks, depending on how long they stay.
We provide a varied diet and encourage children to drink regularly throughout the day.
We help children develop healthy habits and independence.
